REGISTRATION- 2008

Registering for the Autumn Migration & Superior Ecology Series is easy. Follow these three simple steps:
* Select the field courses that are of greatest interest
* Complete the registration form listing the seminar/course titles, dates and fees
* Mail the registration form with your tuition payment to North House
(phone registrations are also welcome - please call 888-387-9762)
North House will mail out a student confirmation packet following student registration
Your registration in a course includes highly experienced instructors/guides, coordinated transportation on field trips (either by van or carpool as defined in the course description).

Location
North House Folk School is located in Grand Marais, Minnesota, on the North Shore of Lake Superior, in the midst of Superior National Forest. Superior National Forest is over three million acres. Habitat types include deciduous and conifer forests (and mixed conifer/deciduous), varying elevations, and bogs, as well as streams and lakes. Included within Superior National Forest is the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The region was designated a Globally Important Birding Area in 2001. A total of 155 bird species nest in Superior National Forest - more than any other national forest.

WHAT TO BRING

Weather can be highly variable in Grand Marais and the North Shore of Lake Superior this time of year. In addition to your binoculars and spotting scopes, we suggest that you bring:
1. Layered clothing (August Pelagic, & September/October); including fleece, winter jackets & heavy long pants
2. Rain gear/wind-proof outer clothing (August through October)
3. Waterproof footwear& heavy socks
4. Winter hat (August Pelagic, & September/October)
5. Long underwear (August Pelagic, & September/October)
6. Winter gloves (August Pelagic, & September/October)
