Superior/Gunflint Photography: Fall Equinox Session

Capturing inspiring images of the spectacular fall colors and the rugged landscape of the North is the focus for this fall session. The course offers a unique opportunity to experiment with and explore both digital and 35mm photography with magazine photographer Layne Kennedy. You'll devote time exploring Superior’s shoreline, combing through colorful boreal forests, hiking rivers and discovering the picturesque community of Grand Marais. Primary medium is the 35mm digital camera. The course concludes with each photographer presenting photos to the group. Workshop participants should be prepared with 35mm digital cameras with a variety of lenses. Participants should bring their own cameras, laptop, and media flash cards with abilities to download images and burn CDs on location.

The first evening of the class, Layne will offer a presentation discussing the necessary tools for producing successful magazine-quality photographs. Participants will learn how to tell a story with their images as daily trips explore the pristine shores of Lake Superior and the surrounding Grand Marais community.
