Bags & Baskets: Braiding Beyond Rugs

Rugs are only one of the creative and practical ways that wool can be reused through braiding. For those who have braided wool rugs, this course offers an opportunity to learn new techniques useful in making handbags and baskets, both useful for storing tools and other goodies. We’ll cover two new concepts in depth: how to finish a project by butting the last few rows to make a very neat ending, and how to braid a circular mat. You’ll be ready to make chair pads, table mats and charming containers using wool fabric.

Wool fabric in blanket or coat weight will be used. If you have your own, please bring it. Otherwise, instructor will have materials for you to purchase. Plan to spend $10 - 20 for fabrics.
