An Important Note
About the Pagami Creek Wildfire

   As many people know, a major wilderness fire is underway in northeastern Minnesota. The Pagami Creek Fire started in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and has steadily grown during the past week.The fire itself is located significantly inland from Grand Marais and North House Folk School. The fire’s current location poses no risk to event participants.

   Given the fire’s distant location, North House plans to host Unplugged X Sept 15-18, 2011 as scheduled. That said, varying amounts of smoke from the fire have been present in Grand Marais, a reality that is entirely dependent on wind direction. We are excited to host Unplugged’s tenth anniversary and honored to welcome Mountain Stage Radio Show to Minnesota. As they say – let the show go on!

   Be assured that North House is staying actively abreast of the situation through daily communication with emergency personnel responsible for managing public safety. North House appreciates the magnitude of this regional emergency, extends its deep thanks to the many individuals actively working to address this situation, and expresses its concern for the neighbors & friends who are located closer to the fire itself. We will share more information as it is available.
