Cider, Crafting Fine Hard Cider at Home: Webinar

Course Overview

From traditions reaching deep into American and European history, the art of making fine craft ciders is at once satisfying and simple. Mike and Lindsay will share many decades of experience making delicious ciders at home. This will be a step-by-step instruction intent on guiding you to a clear, crisp, enjoyable cider with the first and every batch. Webinar participants will learn how to judge a good cider apple, yeast options, equipment, fermentation, and bottling. Also included will be notes on tasting and pairings.

Required Tools

  • None

Optional Tools (These items will be discussed in class though will not need to be on hand the day of)

  •   Carboy (glass bottle- usually 5 gallon)
  •   Hydrometer
  •   pH papers or meter
  •   Sulfur dioxide (pros and cons)
  •   Buckets and funnels
  •   Rubber gloves
  •   Racking tobe
  •   Priming sugar
  •   Bottles
