Introduction to Handspinning: Online Course

Course Overview

In this remote class, we will learn the fundamentals of spinning with a hand spindle. Students will receive a kit ahead of the class which includes a high whorl spindle, an assortment of wool, and downloadable instructions. Our classes will include online group meetings, supplemental video instruction, and one-on-one sessions with the instructor in which we will focus on the individual needs of each student.  At the end of the class, students will have a grounding in the elements of spinning, including drafting fiber, controlling twist, and creating a structurally-sound handspun yarn.

Note: Registration closes two weeks prior to class so that the instructor will have time to mail out the materials.

Optional Tools:

Feel free to bring your favorite tools and whatever materials you might feel appropriate for this course.
