We are so excited to welcome Basket Week 2019 Featured Instructor Jo Campbell Amsler to our North House Zoom stage. She gave such a fascinating talk at Basket Week that we’ve asked her to offer a virtual journey through willow basketry of Europe. Jo has been a willow basket maker for the past 30 plus years. During that time, she has taught and shared her knowledge of willow and the techniques in her work throughout the United States and beyond. In recent years, she has hosted a number of basketry tours to Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Italy, France, Denmark, Wales and England, visiting with basketry weavers in those countries and learning new skills with willow and other natural materials. She welcomes you to join her on a virtual tour to meet those basket makers and learn about their work and materials.
