Kristine Myhre Barton
Afton, MN
Born in Decorah, Iowa with Norwegian grandparents and great grandparents, Kristine Myhre Barton grew up loving all things Norwegian, even lutefisk and especially rosemaling!
Kristine has studied with various Vesterheim Rosemaling Gold Medalists, including Judy Ritger, Shirley Evanstad, Ken Magnuson, Norwegian artist, Turid Fatland as well as local artist Mary Schliep and many others. Extensive travel in Norway has also informed her art.
Kristine has been awarded two Honorable Mentions at the National Vesterheim Folk Art Exhibition.
