Course Overview

Don’t know your bobbin from your footman? How about the flyer, treadle, or mother-of-all? This introductory course on wheel spinning will cover basic wheel mechanics, choosing fiber to spin, fiber preparation, worsted & woolen spinning, and finishing techniques with a focus on animal fibers.

Students are welcome to bring their own wheel in working order or borrow a wheel from North House. Please let us know if you plan to bring your own wheel.

  • Pair of hand cards or wool combs
