Course Overview

We're getting ready to embark on an ambitious community boat building project: a replica of the 1950s herring skiff, the classic boat of the North Shore fishing industry. Construction of the boat will be done in courses during the winter of 2020. Lend a hand with step one: lofting the boat based on measurements from the original. Learn the basics of boat lofting and derive two or three full size construction patterns that will be used for the eventual building of the herring skiff.
