Unplugged 2020: Bringing it Home - An Online Fundraising Event and Concert
Overview
For almost 20 years we’ve invited you to our home to celebrate craft, community, and music—this year we’re bringing it live to your house with a live streaming show on Saturday, September 19th. As always, we’ll be celebrating community and craft along with fantastic music and food.
Grand Marais-based Plucked Up String Band will kick off the show at 6pm Central Time while the community gathers, followed by Chef Beth Dooley showing us how to mix a signature cocktail for the evening. At 6:30 we’ll be joined by Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass, for our featured presentation. At 7:00 it's time for our live auction and Fund-a-Need opportunities. Then, at 7:30, grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Eliza Gilkyson will take the stage for our featured musical performance.
As an optional bonus, we’re also inviting you to join in cooking a special meal as part of the event. At the Birch ticket level and above, you’ll receive recipes and an instructional video to guide you through an incredible meal planned by celebrated Minnesota chef and author, Beth Dooley.
We hope you’ll join us for this truly unique North House event! Tickets begin at $50 per household.

We are excited to welcome Eliza Gilkyson, two-time Grammy-nominated folk, roots, and Americana singer-songwriter as our featured performer.

Our featured speaker this year is Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of the New York Times bestseller Braiding Sweetgrass.
Points North Auction
Consisting of both a public online auction and an exclusive live auction as part of the live show, the Points North auction is your opportunity to find one-of-a-kind hand crafts and engaging North Shore experiences while supporting the North House mission.
The auction open for bidding until Sunday the 20th at 10pm
Plucked Up String Band
The show will begin with homegrown bluegrass from right here in Grand Marais with Plucked Up String Band.

Regardless of which level you choose, only one ticket is required for your household.
Streaming Event Only - $50
This is the featured show and everything that encompasses! Opening music by Grand Marais-based Plucked Up String Band, live Fund-a-Need auction, featured presentation by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and musical performance by Eliza Gilkyson. An evening that's sure to deliver, experienced from the comfort of your own home.
Birch Package - $100
Includes everything above, and:

White Pine Package - $175
Includes everything at the above levels, and:
- Your choice of a bottle of wine from North Shore Winery* or a 12oz bottle of local Caribou Cream maple syrup
- Special package from New Scenic Cafe for 2 including Pepparkakor cookies, Cardamom bread, Lingonberries, and more!
- A North House logo wool watch cap
*We are only able to ship wine to Minnesota and Iowa addresses. If you live in any other state, you will automatically receive the maple syrup.
