Sue Okerstrom
Sue Okerstrom is Principal Scientist/Owner at Lichen Labs LLC and a lifelong Minnesotan. Lichen Labs is a microscopy lab and a biomimicry research and consulting business supporting R&D and problem solving in companies and new experiences using biomimicry and microscopy in education. Prior to Lichen Labs, Sue was a Technical Fellow at Medtronic Inc., performing and directing failure analysis, microscopy, and mechanical and metallurgical testing on for over 25 years. Sue completed a MS in Biomimicry degree from Arizona State and Professional Certificate in Biomimicry from the Biomimicry 3.8 Institute. She also holds an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Bemidji State University.
