Judi Barsness is the Executive Chef of the former highly acclaimed Chez Jude Restaurant in Grand Marais, MN. Chez Jude's menus reflected her commitment to the freshest offerings of the Minnesota seasons, organic, locally grown, harvested, wild-caught, handcrafted ingredients. Chef Barsness still defines what she does as "Minnsine - Contemporary Minnesota Cuisine." A second generation Chef, Judi learned her passion for cooking and baking growing up in her mother's French kitchen. She has served an internship at Alice Water’s Chez Panisse in Berkeley CA. and studied at the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone, St. Helena, CA. and the National Baking Center, Minneapolis, MN. Chef Judi Barsness is currently teaching cooking classes at North House Folk School, Grand Marais, Mn. and is a Chef Mentor for the Cook County High School Culinary Arts Program.
